Plant Life, Benefits of Having Them in Your Life, Home, & Surroundings

Norfolk County Feed and Seed Portsmouth, VA

I remember buying my first plant for my small apartment many years ago.  It brought back memories of how I would help my mom as a kid to water a plant she kept near our large picture window.  Fast forward to today, and now I have 4 houseplants and just got rid of my large monstera cheese plant.  She was gorgeous, but required too much work as she began to grow upwards.  I now have two snake plants, a money tree, and a red and pink aglaonema that I purchased mostly because of its color. But now I just want more plants throughout my home. Besides the color and decor, I find relief from anxiety and a sense of nourishment as I water them each week and monitor the leaves and soil.

Some plants like lavender, jasmine, and aloe vera promote relaxation and better sleep by:

  • Releasing calming scents

  • Increasing oxygen levels at night (in some species)
